Mango Street: A social enterprise pressing its way to success whilst helping the homeless.
Talkfunders first live location interview was with Colin Mackey of Mango Street! Colin defines Mango street as a startup social enterprise that makes hand crafted unpasteurized raw juice from fresh fruit and vegetables. The whole idea is to use some of the profit and the products to support local homeless shelters and the homeless community.
Location wise everything is local and the South Belfast Social Enterprise Hub really is a hub as Colin uses local suppliers to source his fruit and vegetables, the juice is produced in a refurbished retail shop below the Social Enterprise Hub’s offices and his tasty product is distributed to local businesses, such as Raw Food Rebellion. All his office work is carried out in the Hubs offices.
As you watch and listen to the interview you will find that Mango Street is one hot social economy startup with a bright future ahead of it.
